Join Us on October 17th to Design better forms
We’ve all had that experience of filling out a government form, and pausing to ask ourselves, “could they have made this any more confusing or difficult?” Forms are an important way we all engage with our governments, and in Durham we are launching a new effort to make our forms better. We want to have the best forms. Period. And we can’t do it without you.
To kickoff this new effort, on Wednesday, October 17th from 5 - 8PM we invite you to join the City of Durham, other residents, and behavioral scientists from Duke’s Center for Advanced Hindsight to improve the design of government forms so they are easier, simpler, and less confusing. The event will offer residents a fun, interactive opportunity to redesign our forms. The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP so we can plan for food.
NOMINATE A FORM FOR RE-DESIGN
Have a form that made you want to pull out your hair? Nominate it below for the (Re)Form Durham kickoff event.
You can also nominate a form by twitter. Just tweet a picture of the form to @Durham_iteam and add #reformdurm.
Duke’s Center for Advanced Hindsight has been so generous with their time and talents over the past several years. We appreciate the many ways they volunteer their expertise in behavioral science to improve our City services.
The Lab@DC held the first big, public event to redesign government forms using insights from behavioral science in DC. The annual event is called Form-a-Palooza. Thanks for the inspiration!
